Just a quick page this one – on the way back from the big Europe trip I was passing quickly through the countries that are within easy reach of home. I’d either travelled them already or know I’ll be able to do so pretty easily in future, so didn’t really want to dedicate too much time to them.

One place really made it’s mark though. I was looking for a strategic spot to stop overnight while I blitzkrieged through the catalogue of countries (6 counties in 2 days!) on the way home. I’d earmarked a lovely little spot in Czechia. It was a small hotel on the site of a brewery (handy!) on the banks of some small lakes. It turned out to be a spot popular with cyclists due to a network of cycle paths roundabout.

The approaches to the area were gorgeous, well surfaced, flowing B roads. It seems like there is something of a brewing region in this part of Czechia because I passed several breweries all beautifully presented with many appearing to offer up market restaurants and accommodation. It was a great way to end the day, a lovely meal and fresh, unpasteurised Czech beer and a filling meal outside in the sun. It’s a place I’d fancy coming back to for a proper look.
